HACCP and Food safety management Scheme (ISO 22000 & SLS 1266)

Food safety management  is another area where SLSI provides certification services to the industry and commerce. A certificate holder develops and maintains its food safety assurance programme based on the internationally accepted principles of ISO 22000 and HACCP.

Both Schemes are accredited by RvA, The Netherlands, which is one of the world renowned Accreditation Bodies and also by Sri Lanka accreditation Board (SLAB).Thus the certificates issued under these schemes are recognized all over the world HACCP or ISO 22000 certificates awarded from the SLSI implies that chemical, physical and biological hazards encountered during production or processing of the food item, as applicable to the scope of certification controlled to make the food safe for human consumption.

4.     (Bio)chemicals:  category K, Production of (bio)chemicals

Procedure to obtain certification

Pre-certification Submit the duly filled application


Submit the HACCP plan +  …


Receive Adequacy audit report


Make improvements to the FSMS system


Conduct stage I audit


Make improvements to the system


Final assessment (stage II audit)

Submit corrective actions to SLSI

Achieve FSMS Certification

Fees

1.    Adequacy Audit Fee    =  LKR 12 500/=
Covers costs of reviewing the FSMS/HACCP document.

2.    Stage I Audit Fee
Stage I audit fee is computed as LKR 6 000/= per auditor per one man-day.

3.    Stage II Audit Fee   
Stage II audit fee is computed as LKR 6 000/= per auditor per one man-day.

4.    Annual Registration fee    -    SLS 1266 : 2005 (HACCP)  = LKR 60 000/= (Accredited)
= LKR 50 000/= (Non-accredited)
-    ISO 22000 : 2005 (FSMS)   =  LKR 80 000/= (Accredited)
= LKR 70 000/= (Non-accredited)
Fee covers all costs of minimum one surveillance audit per year excluding travel/stay expenses and is payable prior to registration and before each anniversary of registration. Where number of products make at a facility exceeds ten, an additional fee (LKR 10 000/=) should be paid.

5.    Re-certification audit fee
Re-certification audit fee for renewal of certificate is computed as LKR 6 000/= per auditor per one man-day.

6.        All the above payments shall be accompanied with VAT + NBT 2% at the current rate.

7.        The client shall provide transport & accommodation for auditors.

8.       Concession for ISO 9000 certificate holders

Any organization obtains more than one certification from SLSI, which will be given 10% concession for the annual registration fee of the additional certification.
